Dr. Anton Aßmann studied veterinary medicine at Justus Liebig University in Giessen.
He specialized in equine surgery and orthopedics through a four-year training program (internship and residency) at the University of Zurich in Switzerland, during which he earned Diplomate status from the European College of Veterinary Surgeons. He also completed his doctoral degree in equine surgery there.
He then worked for two years as a senior physician at the Clinic for Equine Surgery at the University of Zurich.
He has been at LMU since 2026 and holds the Chair of Equine Surgery at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
